On December 15th Open Incet<\/a> will be the place where to talk about cybersecurity and validity of data at the\u00a0BLOCKCHAIN FOR SOCIAL GOOD<\/a>,\u00a0<\/strong>an event that will bring together policymakers, startups, researchers and other representatives of academia, and anyone else interested in the space of blockchain and its potential.<\/p>\n

The event will open with the launch of the\u00a0\u20ac5m European Commission Prize: \u201cBlockchains for social good<\/a>\u201d<\/strong>. The prize has been designed by the European Commission to promote scalable, efficient and high-impact decentralized solutions to social innovation challenges leveraging the technology used in blockchain.<\/p>\n

The presentation of the prize will be followed by the panel \u2018Uncovering the potential of blockchain<\/a>\u2019 with the participation of\u00a0Andrea Bracciali<\/strong>\u00a0(Lecturer, University of Stirling),\u00a0Marcella Atzori<\/strong>\u00a0(Blockchain Advisor and International Coordinator, TrustedChain) and\u00a0Massimiliano Sala<\/strong>\u00a0(Professor and Director of the Laboratory of Cryptography (CryptoLabTN), University of Trento).\u00a0Leonardo Camiciotti<\/strong>, Executive Director at TOP-IX Consortium will moderate the discussion.<\/p>\n

\u200bAmong others,\u00a0Alessandro Lombardi<\/strong>, Microsoft\u2019s Digital Transformation Advisor, will also participate.<\/p>\n

Francesca Bria<\/strong>\u00a0(Chief Technology and Digital Innovation Officer, Barcelona City Council),\u00a0Paola Pisano<\/strong>\u00a0(Deputy Mayor for Innovation and Smart City, City of Turin),\u00a0Cristina Tajani<\/strong>\u00a0(Deputy Mayor, Municipality of Milan) and\u00a0Fabrizio Sestini<\/strong>, Senior Expert for Social Digital Innovation, DG will present the \u2018Benefits of blockchain in cities\u2019, a panel chaired by\u00a0Marco Zappalorto<\/strong>, Director, Nesta Italia.<\/p>\n

Throughout the event, a few successful examples of blockchain applications will be showcased by corporates, startups and universities.<\/p>\n

The event will close with a networking reception until 16:00 followed by a\u00a0pitching session<\/strong>\u00a0about the\u00a0social goods security aspects<\/strong>\u00a0introduced by the blockchain, moderated by\u00a0TOP-IX Consortium<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The event is organized by City of Turin, University of Turin and Nesta Italia in collaboration with the European Commission, City of Milan, UK Government Science and Innovation Network in Italy, Open Incet and Top-ix Consortium.<\/p>\n
