DISPS could potentially be applied to Deptford.TV<\/p>\n<p>DISPS is a robust system allowing donors to make Distributed, voluntary Supportive Payments (DISPs) to creators, producers and distributors of media. DISPS is premised on the fact that free sharing of files through p2p networks is irrevocable. Under DISPS, consumers choose to make voluntary supportive payments directly to the producer without the mediation of the file\/media as commodity.<\/p>\n<p>Steal this film on Wikipedia:<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"mw-headline\">Part one<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Part One, shot in <a title=\"Sweden\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sweden\">Sweden<\/a> and released in August <a title=\"2006\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/2006\">2006<\/a> combines accounts from prominent players in the Swedish <a title=\"Anti-copyright\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Anti-copyright\">piracy<\/a> culture (<a title=\"The Pirate Bay\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Pirate_Bay\">The Pirate Bay<\/a>, <a title=\"Piratbyr\u00e5n\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Piratbyr%C3%A5n\">Piratbyr\u00e5n<\/a>, and the <a title=\"Pirate Party\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pirate_Party\">Pirate Party<\/a>) with found material, propaganda-like slogans and Vox Pops.<\/p>\n<p>It includes interviews with <a title=\"The Pirate Bay\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Pirate_Bay\">Pirate Bay<\/a> members <a title=\"Fredrik Neij\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fredrik_Neij\">Fredrik Neij<\/a> (tiamo), <a title=\"Gottfrid Svartholm\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gottfrid_Svartholm\">Gottfrid Svartholm<\/a> (anakata) and <a title=\"Peter Sunde\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Peter_Sunde\">Peter Sunde<\/a> (brokep) that were later re-used by agreement in the documentary film <a title=\"Good Copy Bad Copy\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Good_Copy_Bad_Copy\">Good Copy Bad Copy<\/a>, as well as with <a title=\"Piratbyr\u00e5n\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Piratbyr%C3%A5n\">Piratbyr\u00e5n<\/a> members <a title=\"Rasmus Fleischer\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rasmus_Fleischer\">Rasmus Fleischer<\/a> (rsms), Johan (krignell) and Sara Andersson (fraux).<\/p>\n<p>The film <sup id=\"cite_ref-3\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Steal_This_Film#cite_note-3\">[4]<\/a><\/sup>is notable for its critical analysis of an alleged <a title=\"Regulatory capture\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Regulatory_capture\">regulatory capture<\/a><sup id=\"cite_ref-4\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Steal_This_Film#cite_note-4\">[5]<\/a><\/sup> attempt performed by the <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Hollywood\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hollywood\">Hollywood<\/a> film lobby to leverage economic sanctions by the United States government on Sweden through the <a title=\"World Trade Organization\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/World_Trade_Organization\">WTO<\/a>. Alleged aims included the application of pressure to Swedish police into conducting a search and seizure against Swedish law for the purpose of disrupting The Pirate Bay&#8217;s <a title=\"BitTorrent tracker\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/BitTorrent_tracker\">BitTorrent tracker<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"The Guardian\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Guardian\">The Guardian<\/a> Newspaper called it &#8216;at heart a traditionally-structured &#8220;talking heads&#8221; documentary&#8217; with &#8216;amusing stylings&#8217; from film-makers who &#8216;practice what they preach.&#8217;<sup id=\"cite_ref-5\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Steal_This_Film#cite_note-5\">[6]<\/a><\/sup>. Screened at the <a title=\"British Film Institute\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/British_Film_Institute\">British Film Institute<\/a> and numerous independent international events, Steal This Film One was a talking point in 2007&#8217;s British Documentary Film Festival.<sup id=\"cite_ref-6\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Steal_This_Film#cite_note-6\">[7]<\/a><\/sup>. In January 2008 it was featured on <a title=\"BBC Radio 4\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/BBC_Radio_4\">BBC Radio 4<\/a>&#8216;s <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Today Programme\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Today_Programme\">Today Programme<\/a>, in a discussion piece which explored the implications of <a title=\"P2P\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/P2P\">P2P<\/a> for traditional media.<\/p>\n<p>Found material in <em>Steal This Film<\/em> includes the music of <a title=\"Can (band)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Can_%28band%29\">Can<\/a>, tracks &#8220;Thief&#8221; and &#8220;She Brings the Rain&#8221;; clips from other documentary interviews with industry and governmental officials; several industry anti-piracy promotionals; logos from several major Hollywood studios, and sequences from <em><a title=\"The Day After Tomorrow\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Day_After_Tomorrow\">The Day After Tomorrow<\/a><\/em>, <em><a title=\"The Matrix\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Matrix\">The Matrix<\/a><\/em>, <em><a title=\"Zabriskie Point (film)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Zabriskie_Point_%28film%29\">Zabriskie Point<\/a><\/em>, and <em><a title=\"They Live\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/They_Live\">They Live<\/a><\/em>. The use of these short clips is believed to constitute <a title=\"Fair use\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fair_use\">fair use<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"Part_two\" name=\"Part_two\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"mw-headline\">Part two<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Part Two of Steal This Film <sup id=\"cite_ref-7\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Steal_This_Film#cite_note-7\">[8]<\/a><\/sup> (sometimes subtitled &#8216;The Dissolving Fortress&#8217;) was produced during 2007. It premiered (in a preliminary version) at the &#8220;The Oil of the 21st Century &#8211; Perspectives on Intellectual Property&#8221; conference in Berlin, Germany, November 2007.<sup id=\"cite_ref-8\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Steal_This_Film#cite_note-8\">[9]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Thematically, part Two examines the technological and cultural aspects of the <a title=\"Copyright\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Copyright\">copyright<\/a> wars, and the cultural and economic implications of the internet. It includes an exploration of <a title=\"Mark Getty\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mark_Getty\">Mark Getty<\/a>&#8216;s infamous statement that &#8216;intellectual property is the oil of the 21st century&#8217;. Part two draws parallels between the impact of the <a title=\"Printing press\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Printing_press\">printing press<\/a> and the internet in terms of making information accessible beyond a privileged group or &#8220;controllers&#8221;. The argument is made that the decentralised nature of the <a title=\"Internet\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Internet\">internet<\/a> makes the enforcement of conventional <a title=\"Copyright\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Copyright\">copyright<\/a> impossible. Adding to this the internet turns consumers into producers, by way of <a class=\"new\" title=\"Consumer generated content (page does not exist)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/w\/index.php?title=Consumer_generated_content&amp;action=edit&amp;redlink=1\">consumer generated content<\/a>, leading to the sharing, <a title=\"Mashup (music)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mashup_%28music%29\">mashup<\/a> and creation of content not motivated by financial gains. This has fundamental implications for market based media companies. The documentary asks &#8220;How will society change&#8221; and states &#8220;This is the Future &#8211; And it has nothing to do with your bank balance&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>It was selected for the Sheffield International Documentary Film Festival,<sup id=\"cite_ref-9\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Steal_This_Film#cite_note-9\">[10]<\/a><\/sup> South By Southwest festival in Austin, <a title=\"Texas\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Texas\">Texas<\/a>, <sup id=\"cite_ref-10\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Steal_This_Film#cite_note-10\">[11]<\/a><\/sup> and the Singapore International Film Festival <sup id=\"cite_ref-11\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Steal_This_Film#cite_note-11\">[12]<\/a><\/sup>. It was also shown during the International Documentary Film Festival in <a title=\"Amsterdam\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Amsterdam\">Amsterdam<\/a> <sup id=\"cite_ref-12\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Steal_This_Film#cite_note-12\">[13]<\/a><\/sup> where Director Jamie King was a panelist and speaker presenting a rumoured Alternative Compensation project by <a title=\"The League of Noble Peers\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_League_of_Noble_Peers\">The League of Noble Peers<\/a>. Steal This Film has most recently been nominated for the <a title=\"Ars Electronica\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ars_Electronica\">Ars Electronica<\/a> 2008 Digital Communities prize.<sup id=\"cite_ref-13\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Steal_This_Film#cite_note-13\">[14]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<p><a id=\"Distribution\" name=\"Distribution\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"mw-headline\">Distribution<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>A <a title=\"Cam (bootleg)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cam_%28bootleg%29\">cam<\/a> version leaked soon after the preliminary premiere in Berlin.<sup id=\"cite_ref-14\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Steal_This_Film#cite_note-14\">[15]<\/a><\/sup> Part Two had its &#8216;conventional&#8217; (ie, projected rather than viewed online) premiere at the openly-organised artistic seminar in <a title=\"Stockholm\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Stockholm\">Stockholm<\/a> 2007.<sup id=\"cite_ref-15\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Steal_This_Film#cite_note-15\">[16]<\/a><\/sup> Despite the principles of the seminar itself (all aspects of which were organised via open wiki in a year long process), the involvement of <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Piratbyran\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Piratbyran\">Piratbyran<\/a> caused controversy with the funders of the seminar, the Swedish Arts Grants Committee, who refused to allow <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Piratbyran\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Piratbyran\">Piratbyran<\/a>&#8216;s logo on the seminar marketing materials alongside its own. The seminar initiators&#8217; solution was to add a black sticker dot over the logo, which was easily peeled off. Another condition given by the Committee was that an anti-piracy spokesperson be present to balance the debate.<\/p>\n<div class=\"floatright\"><a class=\"image\" title=\"Stealthisfilm.PNG\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Image:Stealthisfilm.PNG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/commons\/3\/3e\/Stealthisfilm.PNG\" alt=\"\" width=\"224\" height=\"290\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>The documentary was officially released on <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Filesharing\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Filesharing\">filesharing<\/a> networks on <a title=\"December 28\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/December_28\">December 28<\/a>, <a title=\"2007\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/2007\">2007<\/a> and, according to the filmmakers, <sup id=\"cite_ref-16\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Steal_This_Film#cite_note-16\">[17]<\/a><\/sup> downloaded 150,000 times in the first three days of distribution. <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Pirate Bay\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pirate_Bay\">Pirate Bay<\/a> encouraged the downloading of Steal This Film Two, announcing its release on its blog.<sup id=\"cite_ref-17\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Steal_This_Film#cite_note-17\">[18]<\/a><\/sup> Steal This Film Two was also screened by the <a title=\"Pirate Cinema\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pirate_Cinema\">Pirate Cinema<\/a> Copenhagen in January 2008.<sup id=\"cite_ref-18\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Steal_This_Film#cite_note-18\">[19]<\/a><\/sup> The documentary can also be downloaded on the official Steal This Film website.<a class=\"external autonumber\" title=\"http:\/\/www.stealthisfilm.com\/Part2\/download.php\" href=\"http:\/\/www.stealthisfilm.com\/Part2\/download.php\" rel=\"nofollow\">[3]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The League of Noble Peers asks for donations and more than US$5000 has been received as of January 5 2008. <sup id=\"cite_ref-19\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Steal_This_Film#cite_note-19\">[20]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<p><a id=\"Language\" name=\"Language\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"mw-headline\">Language<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Like Part One, Part Two is in English. However, unlike Part One, which only had subtitles in English, Part Two has subtitles in many languages due to great interest in the documentary by volunteer translators. The film has subtitles in Croatian, Danish, French, Finnish, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish and Ukrainian.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"Financing\" name=\"Financing\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"mw-headline\">Financing<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>As well as funding from <a class=\"new\" title=\"BritDoc (page does not exist)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/w\/index.php?title=BritDoc&amp;action=edit&amp;redlink=1\">BritDoc<\/a>, the <em>Steal This Film<\/em> series continues to utilise a loose version of the <a title=\"Street Performer Protocol\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Street_Performer_Protocol\">Street Performer Protocol<\/a>, collecting voluntary donations via a <a title=\"PayPal\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/PayPal\">PayPal<\/a> account, from the <a class=\"external text\" title=\"http:\/\/www.stealthisfilm.com\/donate\" href=\"http:\/\/www.stealthisfilm.com\/donate\" rel=\"nofollow\">www.stealthisfilm.com<\/a> website. The filmmakers report that roughly one in a thousand viewers are donating, mostly in the range <a title=\"United States dollar\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_States_dollar\">USD<\/a> 15-40.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"Credits\" name=\"Credits\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"mw-headline\">Credits<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><em>Steal This Film<\/em> One and Two are credited as &#8216;conceived, directed, and produced&#8217; by <a title=\"The League of Noble Peers\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_League_of_Noble_Peers\">The League of Noble Peers<\/a>.
